-----------------------

Dear Friends,

On October 8, I'll be walking in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's
Light The Night Walk to raise funds to help fight cancer, in memory of
my mother. The Society is the world's largest voluntary health
organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services, and was a great source of information to me when I
needed it.

I'd like to enlist your support for this important cause. It's important because there are more than 747,000 people in the United States and Canada who are fighting
blood cancers—leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma—and although research is responsible for increasing survival rates for these diseases, the battle is far from over.

  • Every five minutes, someone in this country is diagnosed with blood cancer.
  • Every nine minutes, someone dies of it.
  • Leukemia is the leading cause of cancer death among children and young adults under age 20. I didn't know this – did you? Take a look at some of
    these beautiful
    children suffering from leukemia.
  • My mother's type of leukemia, AML-M7, is very rare with few opportunities for research, resulting in poor treatment options, extreme suffering, and very
poor prognosis. New research opportunities must be seized, and LLS has some studies related to M7.

Please join me in helping save lives. You can sponsor me via online donation (automatically receive an emailed receipt), but you can also send a check.

In addition to your valuable sponsorship, I encourage you to join the Judi Pearson Team for Light The Night and to ask friends or family members to walk with you.
If you'd like to join the walk, please let me know!

Thank you very much for your support.

Sincerely,

Vicki
